It explores the inventions, innovators, and breakthroughs that have shaped the way we live, work, and think. The course traces computing’s path from early mechanical devices through the digital revolution and into the future, highlighting key milestones in hardware, software, and networking. Along the way, participants gain essential context for understanding computing’s impact—past, present, and future—while enjoying a few quirky and surprising moments from its history.

    Explore Hemingway’s fascination with sleuthing and espionage and the role these adventures played in the development of his FBI file. Participants will view excerpts from the FBI files on Hemingway and consider the author’s paranoia regarding FBI surveillance and other events that preceded his suicide.
